A Quarter of a Year Later…
It really shouldn’t take that long, but it has. 3 months after initially contacting Amazon Support about my listing of Caterpillars CANNOT FLY! the issue now seems to be resolved. Amazon import book information from Nielsen to display on their inventory. However, I wanted to add extra images and a description (Amazon had no description and only 1 picture) of the story in an effort to make it more appealing, after all… who is going to buy a children’s book with no description?
Anyway, after much much ‘to-ing’ and ‘fro-ing’, chatting to support, requesting help from the forums, today, someone at Amazon told me why the listing wasn’t displaying images or description. It did make things a bit perplexing though as the reasons didnt make sense but they did too… odd I know.
I was told that the listing was not updating due to the whole story being in the description which was against Amazon policies, and I would fully understand that, however, only the first page “Calvin was a caterpillar, whose dream it was to fly, his friends thought this was silly, but encouraged him to try.” was quoted and the rest was a description of the story. The system is obviously automated and it just decided that I was writing the whole story… If I was told this the very first time this would have been resolved a long time ago…
So, now that I have cleared this up (eventually) after months of being told over and over to delete the listing and try again (which is really really frustrating), it seems that my latest attempt to get this resolved may be with someone who understands what is going on… only time will tell.
Caterpillars CANNOT FLY! is available to purchase on Amazon, whether there is a description or not by the time you have a look, is as good a guess as anyone’s :/
