On Friday I received my demo books from the printer and I must say that I am very impressed with the colouring and quality… its a proper book! Having it printed meant I could flick through the pages and examine them as per the finished article. Super glad I did, as we found multiple issues with grammar and punctuation (not my strongest point), as well as a few issues with some illustrations.

Revisions have now been submitted to the printer, once I have checked over the proof printing will begin… super duper excited is an understatement.

The next post should be the finished article for Caterpillars CANNOT FLY! by Richard Watterson

My Journey

I started writing my first book in 2019, I was on a 6 hour drive and the idea just came into my head. When driving I was lucky enough to have a few hours of peace and quiet (no music... through choice!), just the drone of the tyres on the road and the occasional squeak here and there. Twice a week my work takes me on a 6 hour round trip so once the idea was in my head I couldn't stop thinking about it. Having a phone handy meant I could take notes during stop breaks and over the next 6 months the story came together. It took me around 18 months from initial idea, to print. Read more here.
